The adventures of Tiffany & Captain – A Trip to the Cat Hotel

August 2026

Tiffany is a very friendly, fluffy kitty, living with her human and her adopted kitten Captain.

Tiffany didn’t always live in a nice home. She once lived on the street, scrounging for food and looking of a safe place to sleep at night.

A friendly human found her one day and took her to an animal shelter, where she was given a check-up by the friendly Vet, although Tiffany didn’t like it when the Vet poked and prodded her. Tiffany spent several weeks living at the shelter, being fed and getting pets and cuddles from the friendly humans who worked there.

One day a human came into the shelter, who say Tiffany and took her out of her cage. Tiffany took this opportunity to convince the human to adopt her and take her to his home by rubbing her face against the human’s chin. It worked and Tiffany was soon off to her new home, one that she hoped she would be her forever home.

After a short time, Tiffany’s human put her in a cat carrier and put her in his car, just like the day she was adopted by her human. Tiffany didn’t like the car. It made scary noises and moved faster than Tiffany could run. After a short drive, they arrived at a pet hotel. Tiffany wasn’t sure what this meant. Was her human leaving Tiffany here? Had she done something wrong?

At least the cage she was staying in was bigger than the one before. It was more like a closet, but it did have a window so Tiffany could look outside and watch the birds.

Tiffany soon discovered that underneath her bed was a little tunnel that led outside. Tiffany crept along slowly, not sure what to make of going outside. Since she was taken to the animal shelter, Tiffany had been strictly an indoor cat.

Tiffany peeked out the little door and though it looked safe outside, which was enclosed with a fence so that Tiffany felt safe being outside. The outdoor area was about as big as Tiffany’s room. She noticed there were other cats in similar fenced pens along the side of the building. Some were peeking through the fence and others were napping in the sunshine.

After two days, Tiffany’s human friend returned and took her back home. She was happy to be back at her home with her human, but Tiffany did like the outdoor pen at the pet hotel.

Tiffany went back to the pet hotel several more times. She loved being there every time, but was always glad to see her human again.

One day, Tiffany’s human brought a little kitten home. This little kitten was named Captain. Although Tiffany never had her own kittens, she immediately became Captain’s mom. Tiffany took care of Captain like he was one of her own kittens, grooming him, cuddling with him and teaching him how to be a cat. They would sleep together, play together, look out the window together and get pets and cuddles from their human.

One day, Tiffany’s human put her and Captain in the cat carrier again. Tiffany knew they were either going to the Vet or to the pet hotel. She was very happy when she realized they were going to the pet hotel, but Captain didn’t understand, since he had never been to the pet hotel before.

When their cat carrier was put in front of their room, Captain stuck his nose out of the cat carrier. Captain was scared as he didn’t know where he was, but Tiffany sure did! Letting out a meow of great excitement, she ran right over top of Captain (“Out of my way, kid.”) and out the small door to the outdoor pen. Even mom cats get a little too excited sometimes.

Tiffany then came back and told Captain to follow her and they both went outside and enjoyed the sun and warm breeze on their faces. The Pet Hotel was now Captain’s favourite place to visit too.
