Hey America: We love you, but mind your own business next time!

April 2025

To my American neighbours:  I am a Canadian and a registered member of the Conservative Party of Canada, the party that up to last December, was expected to form the next government in a massive landslide win, after almost 10 years under Justin “The Fake Male Feminist” Trudeau and his gang of Marxist trained seals.  Now, due to President Donald Trump’s constant butting in to Canadian affairs and tariff threats, the Liberal Party of Canada, under Prime Minister Mark “Carbon Tax” Carney, has won the recent Canadian federal election, although they only secured a minority parliament, meaning they will have to seek the support of opposition parties to pass legislation and to stay in power.  The Liberals went from the expectation that they may be able to hold their caucus meetings in a mini-van after the next election, to retaining a fingernail grip on power.  Now, this may make President Trump very happy, as political commentators in Canada have speculated that Trump favoured Prime Minister Carney, as he saw Carney as a pushover in trade negotiations, rather than having to deal with Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, who was known as the Conservative’s attack dog before he became the leader.

I will acknowledge that there were other issues that led to the failure of the Conservatives to topple the Liberals, including the fact that some Canadians were content to vote for the Liberals once Trudeau resigned as the Liberal leader and Prime Minister.  In other words, far too many Canadians displayed a shocking level of stupidity and stubbornness, preferring to drive the car off a cliff, rather than accept that the mismanagement of our economy and attempts to destroy our energy industry, left us at a severe economic disadvantage in standing up to the nuttiness coming out of the White House.  However, it was President Trump, whom I favoured to win over Kamala Harris, by the way, who played a significant role in preventing the Liberal Party of Canada from suffering a historic, humiliating defeat, and instead claiming a historic forth straight election victory.  I was also in favour of President Trump demanding that Canada tighten up on border security and properly funding our military, but all that got lost in the chaos of the constantly appearing and disappearing threats of tariffs, along with the 51st state nonsense. Instead, President Trump revived the flaming Hindenburg that was the Liberal Party of Canada as late as last December.

By the way Mr. President, it will take more that an Executive Order to make Canada an American state, just so you know.  There’s also the reality that many Canadians, even those who traditionally vote Conservative, would feel more comfortable with voting Democrat, in the unlikely event that Canada does become an American state, so there’s that too.  The 51st state bit was a funny joke at first, but it really set up a bad scenario for Canadians who wanted a change of government.  The Conservatives are in favour of things like expanding our oil and gas sector, building pipelines across the country so we could sell our ethical oil and natural gas to the international markets, eliminating the hated carbon tax, something that even Presidents Obama and Biden haven’t foisted upon Americans, cutting government spending, eliminating the electric vehicle mandate of 100% of sales by 2035 (let the public decide if they want an electric vehicle, thank you), eliminating the economy-killing net zero by 2050 fantasy, finally seeing criminals pay for their crimes through harsher sentences and denial of bail for repeat offenders, rather than the revolving door “justice” system we currently have, and stopping the confiscation of guns from lawful and safety conscious private gun owners.

I have several American friends and I always enjoy visiting America.  I used to live in a border city in Ontario, where we frequently would cross the border just to go to a restaurant or a sporting event.  Unlike some of my fellow countrymen, I have no intention of canceling any trips to America this year or any other year.  If you, my American neighbours, if you could tell your president to mind his own business next time, that would be great, as Bill Lumbergh, from the movie Office Space, might say.  Canada and America have been great friends and allies since we burned your White House.  Let’s return to that friendship.
