Re: “LCBO workers in line for 8% wage hike before tentative deal collapsed” (Brian Lilley, Toronto Sun, 19 July): In light of recent developments, I believe that it’s time for the Ford government to make the LCBO union the same offer that President Ronald Reagan made to the air traffic controllers in 1981: Get back to work, or you’re fired! Give them a cost of living raise, but nothing more! Any insinuations that such an action would undermine the right to collective bargaining have been undermined by the union leadership’s bad-faith bargaining. If LCBO workers have any issues with that, they should blame their union leadership.
