So why is it racist to call the virus that we know officially as COVID-19, the China Virus, when it’s not racist to call the variants that have recently been identified as coming from the UK and South Africa, as the UK variant and the South Africa variant?
The name that I prefer is the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Virus, a term preferred by The Epoch Times, a publication founded and run by Chinese-Canadians. This name CCP Virus is specifically meant to differentiate between the Chinese people, who are victims of this virus, and the Chinese Communist Party, who oppress and violate the basic human rights of their own citizens.
