Reunion of Original Genesis Member Possible?

April 2006
Rumors continue to abound about a reunion of the members of Genesis, the popular Progressive Rock band form the 1970s and huge pop-hitmakers of the 1980s.

I think it would be great to see ALL the members of Genesis playing together again, including Daryl and Chester. As for those who fear a Collins dominated reunion, don’t go see the show. You obviously have different musical tastes and that’s fair. I don’t like Phil’s solo material and would never go to one of his concerts, but Phil didn’t destroy the band. In fact, my second favourite Genesis album is “A Trick Of The Tail”, the first one Phil fronted. He simply took them to a new level.

I saw an interview with the band and all the members said they were ready to try something different musically around 1975. Peter’s departure was just a good excuse to go for it, so if you want to blame anyone for the Phil-era of music, you have to blame the entire band.

Although I prefer the Gabriel-era material, one of the things I really enjoy about Genesis is the fact that they didn’t stagnate, but changed their sound to keep the music fresh.
