Re: “Antisemitism in Canada more than an awareness problem,” (Simon Wolle, Toronto Sun, 8 June):
B’nai Brith is advocating for “the establishment of a commission of inquiry, such as Royal Commission, to investigate the root causes of antisemitism in Canada.” Canada does have a shameful history of antisemitism, so we can’t forget that, but we have evolved from those shameful days. The current problem is one that I lay primarily at the feet of radial Islamists, the ones whose religious beliefs are completely incompatible with western liberal democracy, along with their brainwashed useful idiots. While we will never completely eliminate hatred of all kinds, including antisemitism, I feel the only way we come even close to reducing the frightening levels of violent antisemitism that we have been seeing in Toronto and across the secular world, is to immediately arrest, jail and deport when applicable, anyone who participates in these almost daily hate-fests. Sure, the right to protest is a Charter Right in Canada, but what we have been seeing over the past two-and-a half years in Toronto goes beyond simply protesting. What we have been seeing from the “From the river to the sea” and “Free, Free Palestine” crowd is pure hatred, intimidation, terrorization and a declaration of war against Jews, Canada and the liberal democracy that Canadians cherish.
There is absolutely no reason for these terrorists and their useful idiots need to “protest” in Jewish neighbourhoods and outside Jewish schools, businesses and Synagogues. Protest outside the Israeli Consulate or the Israeli Embassy in Ottawa, which are legitimate targets for their protests. Of course, we all know why these terrorists go to Bathurst & Sheppard every weekend. It’s for the specific purpose of terrorizing Jewish residents of Toronto. I’m pleasantly amazed that no one has been killed in any of the many shootings at Jewish schools and Synagogues, even if the shooters didn’t actually intend to kill anyone.
These pro-Hamas agitators have no shame in the way they conduct themselves and facts have no meaning to them. There is no genocide in Gaza. How do I know that? Have I visited Gaza? No, but I do have eyes though. Firstly, the population of Gaza has seen a 3% growth in recent years, according to World Population Review. The whole purpose of a genocide is to wipe out the population of a specific area or ethnic group, so either there is no actual genocide, or the Israelis are really, really bad at committing a genocide.
Also, if the Israeli Defence Force really wanted to wipe out all Palestinians living in Gaza, they could have reduced Gaza to rubble in a week, so there’s that too.
