June 2026
It was a great Saturday afternoon and night on the Barrie waterfront on 6 June, as the 2026 edition of the Troubadour Festival kicked off with its line-up for June. Headlining the day-long festival, where it was country music day, were The Road hammers, Canada’s hardest driving country music band, led by Barrie-born (but current resident of Minesing), Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame winner Jason McCoy. During their 90-minute set, the Road Hammers played their numerous radio hits including I’m A Road Hammer, East Bound and Down, Girl on the Billboard, and the gold-certified single Mud, thrilling audiences around the world with their high-energy shows.
The highly popular free music festival is back for its second year, with concerts held in the amphitheater at Meridian Square in downtown Barrie, along with the Troubadour Street Stage, close by on Dunlop Street, for emerging country artists.
Sponsored by Paul Sadlon Motors, a longtime, family-owned car dealership in Barrie, the Troubadour Festival celebrates a variety of musical genres, including this year’s roster of country, rock and indie-folk artists.
Also playing the festival on Saturday were Sam Polley and The Old Tomorrows, Kendra Gabriel, Mackinna Givens and Jammers Waffle House.
For the kids, there was the Troubadour Treehouse, a dedicated family entertainment zone located around the Troubadour Street Stage on Dunlop Street, featuring headlining children’s entertainers Caitie & Tobee.
