Maybe it’s just me (well, no it isn’t, but just go with me), but Progressives seem to really like violence and destruction, especially for political purposes. So much of their rhetoric and talking points includes words like “smash,” “rage,” “rise up,” “resistance,” “revolution,” “fight (the power),” “punch,” “tear-down,” “destroy,” “blow-up,” “hate,” “kill,” “bullet,” “bomb,” “by any means necessary,” and on.
These days, anyone they disagree with is a “Nazi,” “dictator,” “fascist,” “racist,” “white supremacist,” “bigoted,” and on, even if they are black, Jewish, or anyone from a minority group who identifies as right-wing. American Conservative commentator Larry Elder, who is black, has been called “The black face of white supremacy.” Uhm, he’s what now?
For many leftists, hate is a license. Conservative speakers can be shouted down, assaulted, or even killed, like Charlie Kirk, on university campuses and in other public gathering places.
They glorify mass murders like Mao, Stalin, Castro, Guevara and cheer on murderous terrorist groups like Hamas. They purport to be against fascism, yet they use fascist techniques to intimidate, delegitimize, demonize and control opponents, just like fascists they purport to want to punch.
Is it any wonder that there have been three assassination attempts against President Trump? After all, who can argue against killing Hitler, right? Could someone remind me haw many assassination attempts there were against President Obama? President Biden? Is it a coincidence that many of the people who support legal and responsible gun ownership are on the political right, while those who have attempted to assassinate President Trump are on the political left?
Violence certainly does go both ways, but the current reality is hard to deny, if we are being honest with ourselves.
