Re “Extra security long overdue” (Joe Warmington, 12 March): While it’s undeniable that the $10 million the federal government is offering to assist Jewish organizations in enhancing security is a good thing, how about tackling the “root causes,” as progressives love to yammer on about when it relates to one of their preferred groups? I say the time is long overdue to take a firehose to the terrorists and their professional agitator flunkies (actual firehose or metaphorical – I’m good with either). Send police public order units and mounted units into the crowds and arrest everyone. Toronto Police had no problem acting against protesters at the G20 in 2010 and the Freedom Convoy in 2022, so they know how to do it.
Identify these agitators and immediately deport any non-citizens. Any naturalized citizen can choose between forfeiture of their citizenship and immediate deportation, or 10 years in prison, followed by a life on parole. Citizenship revocation and deportation would follow for any further criminal convictions. All Canadian-born citizens should be imprisoned for 10 years. That $10 million could go towards building a new prison to house these antisemitic terrorists.
Yes, you have a right to peacefully protest, but after over two years of this escalating anarchy, we get your message and it’s time to end this nonsense before we have our own Bondi Beach massacre, or worse, our own October 7. The time for playing nice with these schmucks and their political enablers is over.
