The Hamilton-Burlington Beach Strip is a popular destination for recreation and leisure. Featuring amenities like parkland, a giant wave pool, walking & cycling trails, a go-kart track and of course, the beach for swimming and suntanning, the beach strip has been the place to go in the hot summer months for over 150 years.
Hutch’s on the Beach has been a popular spot on the beach for food and beverages since opening in 1946. Hungry beachgoers can enjoy food like hamburgers, hotdogs, fish and chips, their own French fries, real ice cream milkshakes and ice cream cones, all served in a 1950s-style diner with classic diner-style booths, vintage decor, sports memorabilia and 50s-era music played on a period jukebox.
Picnic tables surround the restaurant for the good weather days.
Hutch’s was originally founded by Bill Hutchinson as a beachside snack bar, approximately one mile west of its current location. The current building opened in February 1990.
Bill Hutchinson, Jr. currently runs the diner, taking over from his father, who died in 1997. Hutch’s is open year-round, although the beach is a little quieter in the winter months.
