Toronto cop pulled from lake had PTSD from on-job shooting

Toronto Sun

17 February 2016

Re:  Toronto cop pulled from lake had PTSD from on-job shooting (Joe Warmington, Feb 4):  In the wake of the conviction of Cst James Forcillo, it’s pretty easy for some to believe cops are trigger happy thugs who feel no remorse for taking a life in the line of duty. So to all the cop-haters out there who think police officers go out there every day hoping that they get the chance to shoot someone, is this a dose of reality for you? The SIU determined Cst Darius Garda was involved in a JUSTIFIED shooting, yet it still haunted him.

Taking a life is a tough thing to deal with for anyone who’s not a complete psychopath, even if you are finally able to satisfy yourself that you had no other choice.

My condolences to his family for their loss.
