The truth, the whole truth and The Damn Truth

Canada is home to many of the music industy’s greatest artists and Montreal based band The Damn Truth, who played the Casbah Lounge in Hamilton, Ontario, on 11 May 2017, is destined to be among that crowd.

Featuring Lee-la Baum (vocals & rhythm guitar), Tom Shemer (guitars), and Dave Traina (drums), the band is currently on tour promoting their second full-length album, “Devilish Folk”, along with touring bass guitarist PY Letellier.

The Damn Truth harken back to the classic rock-era with their high-energy mix of blues-based, hard-driving rock, psychedelic folk and punk. It also helps that lead singer Lee-La Baum’s voice evokes memories of Janis Joplin.

Guitarist Tom Shemer suggested: “I think some of the older fans are drawn to the band because we remind them of what rock’n’roll used to be like in its heyday, when it was still a bit dangerous…”

If you haven’t already caught one of their shows, do yourself a favour and check out the tour dates on their web site for a show near your city. You won’t be disappointed.

Call your local rock radio station and request Damn Truth songs such as “Heart Is Cold”, “Broken Blues”, “White Lies” and “Get With You” from “Devilish Folk”, or “Kinda Awkward” from their first album, “Deer in the Headlights“.

Also watch out for Yves Saint Laurent’s new “Mon Paris” fragrance ad campaign, featuring Lee-La Baum singing a cover version of U2’s “Love is Blindness”.
