The CCP election interference scandal deepens – Don Valley North MP Han Dong owes Canadians an explanation

March 2023

As a retired police officer, I understand that a person is innocent until proven guilty, and Don Valley North Member of Parliament (MP) Han Dong may not have done anything contrary to the best interests of Canada, including being a agent for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). That said, I do have a very relevant question: why was MP Dong meeting with the Chinese diplomats, especially given that “A PMO (Prime Minister’s Office) spokesperson suggested Dong was not acting on behalf of the government…”? If MP Hong can’t give a plausible answer to that simple question, that could prove to be a big problem for his exoneration, especially when it comes to the court of public opinion.

On a related topic, I don’t know how many millions it will cost special rapporteur David Johnston to determine, two months from now, whether Prime Minister Justin Trudeau needs to call for a full inquiry into CCP interference in our elections, but if he pays me $100, I’ll tell him in two seconds whether one should be called or not (spoiler alert: YES!!!).
