Live earth full of hot air

August 2007
Who thought it was a good idea to have a concert, requiring tons of electricity and musicians to travel via fossil-fuel burning buses and planes, and say that it is to promote awareness of global warming. Oh yeah, a pompous blow-hard who has probably done more to promote awareness of his future ambitions that awareness of global warming. How much environmental damage was done by holding this worldwide concert? Even with bands such as Cold Play promising to plant trees to offset their carbon footprint (a complete farce) won’t do any good. Any trees planted now by them or anyone for that matter, won’t have a significant impact on carbon dioxide emissions for another 4 decades.

Most people who tuned in to watch the concert were more concerned with watching a good show. Hey, everyone likes a good concert. Most, if not all of the musicians who performed were more concerned with promoting themselves than the cause, which is not a criticism of them in any way. Hell, if I had an album to promote, I would have been there too.

Let’s come up with real solutions to eliminating pollution in our world.
