Regarding Julian Fantino’s appointment to the OPP: I say bravo Chief Fantino. As someone who served under him during his tenure as Toronto’s chief, I can say he is definitely the man for the job.
Regardless of whether this is just a ploy by the McGinty Liberals to keep him out political arena, I think he makes a better cop that a politician anyway. His greatest failing is that when faced with making a decision, he often chooses the unpopular (but usually correct!!) option over the politically popular one.
Whether you like him or not, you have to admit he gets the job done and he makes the decisions others seem afraid to make. That is exactly the kind of person the OPP needs right now.
Congratulations Chief, oops I mean, Commissioner Fantino.
