Is the tide turning against the Cult of Trudeau?

November 2023

Stunning news! Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault just lost a federal court case on 16 November, with Justice Angela Furlanetto ruling that Guilbeault’s order labelling all plastics products as toxic is “both unreasonable and unconstitutional.” Are we finally seeing the turning of the tide against Trudeau’s woke, virtue-signaling, economy-killing agenda? Combined with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s plummeting political numbers, the plummeting support for carbon taxes, especially on home-heating fuels, record inflation exacerbated in big part by Trudeau’s monetary policies and even plummeting support from within the Liberal circles, as expressed in Senator Percy Downe public statement that it may be time for Trudeau to step down as party leader, Canadians seem to actually be tiring of Trudeau’s antics.

Trudeau isn’t legally required to call an election for another two years and unless Jagmeet Singh withdraws the support of the New Democratic Party. A week in politics can be an eternity, so two years could still be enough time for Trudeau to turn things around. As it stands now, unless the Conservative Party revert their usual pattern of running head-first into a tree while kicking themselves in the nuts, you know, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, we will see Pierre Poilievre as Prime Minister by October 2025 at the latest.

I said when Trudeau became Liberal leader in 2013 that he would be our next Prime Minister and that he would be the worst Prime Minister in the history of Canada. The only thing that I got wrong was that I though he wouldn’t be PM until 2019. I’ve spent most of the last eight years convinced that Canadians would re-elect Trudeau no matter how many national and international blunders he committed, given that his support seemed very cult-like.

The tide may finally be turning.
