Is the global warming hysteria becoming too much?

March 2007
Am I the only one who is getting sick of hearing all the contradictory information about the cause of global warming? I don’t deny that global warming is a reality, but whether it is a result of man-made influences or a natural phenomenon is the real question.

I’m also getting sick of hearing all of the newly converted eco-Nazis preaching about the evils of consuming non-renewable resources and our wasteful lifestyles. While I do agree that we are a wasteful society, how far do you push things? Will there come a day when a Smart Car will be seen as a gas guzzler?

We have one camp saying that they have scientific proof that global warming is man-made, yet we have another camp that says these conclusions are scientific THEORIES, not proven scientific facts. Now I don’t doubt that we need to treat mother earth better than we do, but will someone please give me the real facts, not the politically (in)convenient truths.

Unless we are all prepared to go back to the days of the horse & buggy, lighting our homes with oil lamps and heating them with a wood stove, we should just accept the fact that the issue of consuming energy (electricity or petroleum) is one genie that is not going back into the bottle. Only when we get rid of the political agendas can we really address the problem.
