Since 1931, the Corktown Irish Pub has been a fixture in Hamilton’s Corktown area, one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the southern Ontario city. Settled more than a century and a half ago by working class Irish immigrants, it’s undergone gentrification in recent years, with many of the old homes and rowhouses restored and renovated to suit the modern tastes of Generation X and Millennial buyers.
Since opening, millions have walked through the doors of the pub, Hamilton’s oldest licenced public house and live music venue, to enjoy a pint, a meal and some great live musical entertainment.
Over 10, 000 bands have graced the pub’s two stages, from local jam bands to some of the biggest Canadian bands, like The Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo, Arkells and Tom Cochrane. Jeff Healy played his last show at the Corktown Pub, just 4 weeks before his death in 2008.
You can find the Corktown Irish Pub where it’s always been, at 175 Young Street in Hamilton.
